The development process of Mini Countries can currently be followed in a devlog series on YouTube:

New demo version (v0.91) is now available as download!

Mini Countries is a level-based strategy puzzle game where a resource transport network must be built for a country.

Each level stands for a country that has different resources and characteristics. An ever increasing number of cities requires skill and good planning to meet the global demand for resources for all cities. Points can be earned by transports and generated knowledge, which in turn can be invested in the transportation network to keep your country's demand up.

FEATURES

  • Build trade buildings to produce resources in your country
  • Make sufficient storage buildings available
  • Transport resources from storage buildings to demanding cities
  • Upgrade resources by constructing industry buildings
  • Import resources which are not produced in your country
  • Export resources to generate knowledge
  • Decide on one branch for the development of your cities: Workers' cities allow trade and industry buildings to produce resources faster and science cities improve the growth rate and thus the generation of further knowledge points
  • Plan your resource production according to different seasons
  • Reacts to special events

TRANSPORT

As a player, it is your task to deliver resources to demanding cities. Create a transport network by making connections between buildings to make transport possible.

SEASONS

Not every resource can be produced in every season but cities demand resources continuously. For this reason, it is important to always produce and store enough resources so that every city can be supplied with all the demanding resources at any time.

FREE UPDATES

New expansions or levels are created regularly and are available for all Mini Countries players.

Mini Countries is inspired by games like Mini Metro and Anno 1800.

I played the demo and it was pretty enjoyable! I think the tutorial could explain the mechanics a bit better, perhaps some screenshots or example videos/gifs in-game might help alleviate some confusion on mechanics. Once you get the hang of it though, it’s pretty interesting. There’s a lot of decision making to be done when placing connections, resource spots, and storage. I do think some parts could be a bit more refined. EX: I kinda wish there was a way to allocate resources automatically instead of having to manually send to each town.

Regardless, it was a fun time! Hope the updates will add and improve a lot!

Hey,

glad to hear you like the demo!
The tutorial do have animated videos above the description or what do you mean?
Yeah, that´s one thing I´ve heard a lot. Automation is something I´m currently working on. There will be an update very soon!

Cheers, Christian

Apparently I don't have working eyes! The tutorials do indeed have videos. Sorry about the confusion, please disregard that part of my comment.

It looks really fun! But I downloaded the mac demo 0.93, and once I got past the Yheeky logo I just got a black screen, and couldn't progress past that.

Did you secure you have write permission in game directory?

It looks cool, but I have a bug in the game - the camera always moves in one direction without stopping, this is not a sticky key. Even a complete reinstallation of the game does not help

Hey, sorry to hear that. Did you enable the "Move camera on window edge" option in the settings?

(1 edit)

I already tried with camera movement
to the borders and without. Does not help. I even cleared the player files that the game creates on the C drive

However, the most interesting thing is that I played on my old laptop in Mini Country and there was no such bug

That´s weird...never heard of that actually. In which direction is it going?

hey! I would gladly buy it if it wasn't for steam...

Hey, Steam was the first platform but maybe I´ll add it here as well in the future :)
